In visual perception a color is almost never seen as it really is - as it physically is. This fact makes color the most relative medium in art.

Computer viruses are malicious programs that can impede the normal operation of a computer or destroy data stored on the computer or on a network. Like a real virus, a computer virus can replicate itself to infect other computers on a network or through removable media like a CD, floppy disk, DVD, or USB thumb drive. The most common way that viruses are transmitted from computer to computer is through email.

Computer viruses have been around almost as long as computers. The first virus was created as an experiment in the 1970’s and traveled through ARPANET, which was the precursor to the World Wide Web. The first virus to appear “in the wild” was created by a high school student in 1981 and attached to a floppy disk containing a game. The virus was relatively benign, opening a poem after a certain number of replications.

Since then, viruses have become widespread, far more malicious, and extremely complicated. This makes them dangerous to computer networks and difficult to remove when found. Thousands of new viruses are created and dispersed every year. The computer virus protection industry is busy every day searching for the latest viruses and updating virus protection software to neutralize and remove detected viruses from client computers. Computer users are encouraged to use anti-virus software for protection and must regularly install updates to protect against the latest virus threats.

Many viruses are transmitted through email. Many virus laden emails are sent to people with innocuous sounding names. When the user opens the message attachment, thinking he will be shown a video or a picture, the virus installs itself on the computer and runs its program. Many viruses automatically generate emails that are sent to every email address in the infected computer’s address book. When a person sees an email from somebody they know, they are more likely to trust that the message is real, which gives the virus the best opportunity to infect the computer.

The most malicious computer viruses are those that destroy or corrupt data housed on the host computer. People use computers to store all types of important personal and business data. If the data is compromised, many people are often left without any recourse because the data was not protected or backed up. Data recovery services provide computer users with the ability to recover information from hard drives, floppy disks, CDs, USB thumb drives, and Zip disks after the data has been lost. The companies that provide this service have tools and methods available to save the important data that was previously thought lost to the user.

The most important piece of the computer is the hard drive. This is where users store most of their data, where the operating system is housed, and where most programs are run from. Many computer viruses go straight to work attacking the hard drive, making the computer unusable and destroying important data. Companies which provide hard drive data recovery services can give computer users peace of mind that should the worst case scenario occur, important data can be saved.
