The Gallery at 38 Cameron is very pleased to announce an upcoming show of the paintings of Sarah Dobkin and the sculpture of Donna Dodson.
Sarah Dobkin has recently moved from NYC to Somerville. She received her Masters in Fine Arts degree (2003 – 2005) from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, and her Post Baccalaureate Study (Certificate in Studio Art 2001 – 2003) from Brandeis University. She received her Bachelor in Fine Arts degree (1995 – 2000) from Atlanta College of Art in Atlanta, GA.

Donna Dodson graduated cum laude from Wellesley College in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts. Her passion for Egyptian art led her to study wood sculpture with Joseph Wheelwright at his studio in Boston in 1995. She continued her studies in sculpture with Peter Haines at his studio in Cambridge, learning how to abstract and resolve forms.
“My artwork celebrates the mystical relationship between human beings and the animal kingdom. Influences from Egyptian, Native American and Indian art inform the visual language of my work…the natural grain of the wood interacts with the shape and surface of my sculptures in a fluid way…They are created as objects of beauty, and each one invites a tactile experience from the viewer… lessons for my eyes, hands, mind and spirit”.
The Gallery at 38 Cameron seeks to discover and display cutting edge work that expresses the beauty, potential and evolutionary development of our common humanity. It is this beauty that transcends and embraces our individual and collective histories and cultures. We feature artists working in a variety of media who offer a fresh view of the world and bring a deeper dimension to our lives.
Formerly a warehouse and furniture factory, 38 Cameron was recently renovated into contemporary office and meeting spaces. The Gallery at 38 Cameron is a vibrant element of the on-going transformation of this unique space.
